Serbia exhibited its military power with the parade of the “Power of Union” in front of the Palace of Serbia in Belgrade as part of the National Unity, Freedom and Flag Day. According to the Ministry of Defense, approximately 10 thousand staff attended the ceremony, more than 2 thousand 500 weapons and equipment, more than 600 vehicles, 70 aircraft and 20 sea vehicles were introduced.
The ceremony began with the 300 -meter -long Serbian flag carried by military academy students. President Aleksandar Vučić described the activity as “the pride of Serbia ve and said,“ This is a victory of Serbia, who wants peace and prosperity but knows its honor and future. ”
Russian tanks, Chinese systems
In the parade ceremony, especially the tanks taken from Russia and the HQ-22 and HQ-17 air defense systems of China drew attention. This was considered a powerful message reflecting Belgrade’s close relations with Moscow and Beijing. Previously delivered to Belgrade with Y-20 shipping planes in 2022, the Chinese systems had created an international agenda.
The Ministry of Defense of the Serbia defines the missile system as “milestone in the country’s air defense with the HQ-17AE short-range defense system and the FK-3 (export version of HQ-22). According to experts, when these two systems are used together, Serbia gives a comprehensive air defense capacity.
