Breaking News: Russian Fighter Jets Violated Estonia’s Airspace

Recently, three Russian fighter aircraft briefly crossed into Estonia’s airspace, according to local media reports. The incursion lasted only a few minutes and involved jets that did not establish two-way radio contact with Estonian air traffic control and did not file flight plans, as stated by domestic news outlets.

Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna commented on the incident, noting that Russia has already violated Estonia’s airspace on four occasions this year, describing it as unacceptable. He added that the latest breach, involving three aircraft, marked an especially brazen move and stressed the need for a swift response through political and economic means to address ongoing border testing and aggression.

Estonia’s incident followed a series of similar events among NATO members in recent weeks. Earlier, Romania reported a drone from Russia crossed its airspace during the Ukraine-focused operations, and Poland disclosed that more than 20 Russian drones entered its airspace before being intercepted by the military in what authorities called an unprecedented violation.
